This method will allow doing a de-training thing in the future as well, just by making it so you can increment that “reset point” value through a training method.

I’m currently planning on the last day of offseason being Friday. I was hoping to do tomorrow originally, but it’s kinda late notice for everyone now, so we’ll do Friday.That means:
- Last day to boost for season 9: Friday.
- Last day to purchase stadium sections to be built for season 9: Friday.
- First day to boost for season 10: Saturday.
- Construction of stadium sections occur on rollover from Friday -> Saturday
- Schedules come out on Saturday morning/afternoon.
- Season tickets sell on Saturday night, starting 2 hours before rollover.
- First preseason game is Sunday.
- If you are one of the remaining stragglers dealing with team movement, you need to get it done ASAP. We cannot do anything with team placement after schedules are done.I’m going to enable the training stipend script tonight, like we had last season, and let it run through preseason (you’ll get $ for normal training). Right now it looks like a pretty close tie on the 2 vs 4 game preseason poll, so I’m just going to do a 3 game preseason to split the difference.
I will also get the option to reset special teams Veteran Abilities up and running shortly. I ran into a bug with having more than one resettable skill at once, and just need to track that down.
As for sim updates for this season, there’s a short list to consider:
- Tunnel vision SA being active allows DE’s to get a short speed boost when successfully stunning their blocker.
- QB’s will not see blind side rushes coming as easily, so are less likely to throw the ball away early.
- First Step has been updated to not only improve acceleration as it normally does, but it actually increases max velocity briefly when it goes off. This allows those with very high agility to still see some benefit from the skill.
- I have been playing with the maximum allowable angle for successful pass blocking, since there’s been some blocks around the edge that look like holding.
- Knocked loose pass chance toned down a little in general.
- The coverage distance slider has been added for defense.
- You can select offense plays in your AI using pictures now (should be fixed in Opera now if you hit refresh).
- Big Heart will very likely get an adjustment of some sort. If so, you’ll be able to reset it.

Few things regarding new plays:
1) Current formations only. We don’t think the DAI is quite ready to handle more.
2) The easiest thing to do would be to take the current play .gifs from this site: http://seano-glb.bravehost.com/offense.htm and just draw your routes on them in MSPaint or Photoshop.
3) Then upload the picture on something like photobucket and post the link here. We’ll take the links and move them over to the test server and get the discussion going there.
4) Nothing too crazy, obviously. No HB Passes, Double Reverses, Option Pitches, or anything similar that would be outside of the current realm of the sim.
5) Don’t forget to highlight the primary route for passing plays.
6) PLEASE name the file something descriptive, and include the formation in the name so that we can easily sort them.
7) Either post the links to your plays here for discussion, or PM them to me, and I’ll get them moved over to the test server forum.And that’s it

All-in-All, it’s been a pretty quiet week or so, as we all wait for the next season to start. Bort & Co. have been busy with all of the uploading and restructuring and all of that kind of stuff and haven’t been around much to comment.
Major Topics and Additions
#1 - The Biggest news this week was looking at some of the new design features. You know I’d normally love to go in depth with this kind of stuff, but since it’s not really any kind of “competitive edge” type thing, we might as well leave it as a surprise
I can definitely tell you, though, that the new look is pretty awesome and has a lot of neat features built into it. Also, you can see the new homepage now if you go to the test server homepage: http://test.goallineblitz.com
#2 - Talked about how annoying it was for people to win the KR/PR awards with only 5 returns. According to Bort, the numbers will be raised next year to a minimum of 15 KR and 20 PR.
#3 - Talk about possibly beefing up CPU players a little bit. Now that most of the leagues are capped, it would be nice to try to get some of the absolute blowouts under control to make the Awards mean a little more and make the MVP formula work a little better.
#4 - Possibly more changes coming for Big Heart. Not necessarily a nerf, but probably re-thinking it a little bit. Couple of different ideas flying around right now, nothing concrete to really pass along.
#5 - Bort found and fixed the bug where Diving Tackles were no longer showing up in the PBP. They had still been happening all season long, it was just a PBP issure.
#6 - Trying out switching the final TE SA from Lower the Shoulder to Stiff Arm. As it is, LTS only works when you have some momentum built up, which a TE doesn’t actually have a chance to do that often, so switching to an SA that isn’t momentum based makes a little more sense imo.

Been testing various levels of energy usage reduction for ST play. There will actually be a bit of reduction, but not so much as that you can play kickoffs and be completely fresh for the next play (unless it’s a short KO or you have 100 stamina or something).I’ve been looking at the general outputs, and it might be worth looking at increasing energy usage during normal plays, while decreasing it for special teams, so they meet more of a middle ground. I’d have to do some more in depth testing and statistical analysis before making a decision on that though.

By Some Forum Poster: what about a gradual reset? wlarson suggested that you can give 1 vp back/day and put it where you want to.you don’t turn into something you are not OVERNIGHT. but you work for it.
